Caribe Nation,
We’re beginning Step 6 of the Caribe Swim Learn to Swim Playbook:
How to Forward Breathe
Two videos are coming this week:
The 7 biggest breathing mistakes (7 min)
The step-by-step breathing playbook (20 min)
Before those drop, fix this one thing:
The most common mistake:
Breathing too late in the pull
When you wait until your arms are finishing the pull…
your head has to fight the water to get up.
That’s why it feels rushed and hard to get air.

What to do instead:
Start your breath as soon as your arms begin the pull
Think:
Arms start pulling → head begins lifting
This is when our body has the most amount of momentum - it will be so much easier, I promise 🙂

This small timing change makes breathing feel smoother and easier immediately.
If You are struggling, try this (today):

Stand in shallow water
Practice: pull → lift → breathe
Do 10 slow reps focusing only on timing
Then return to swimming and see if you have improved.
Reply and tell me:
What’s been the hardest part about breathing for you?
I’ll use your answers in the next videos.
BIG Love,
Coach Jeff
