Taking Your First Swimming Breath
Avoid these 10 common mistakes!
Learning how to take your first swimming breath can be overwhelming:
“What if I inhale water?”
“What if I come up too late?”
“What if I choke and can’t find the wall?”
This wasn’t about skill.
It’s about trust.
And rightfully so, if you have never taken a breath in the pool, it’s hard to trust that you CAN and WILL be able to.
This is the #1 challenge for new swimmers.
You have to trust:
That you’ll exhale enough.
That there’s still air left in your lungs.
That you’ll find the surface in time.
It is enough to send your brain into overload!
If you’ve avoided swimming because of this moment — let me say this clearly:
I can help!
In today’s Technique Tuesday video, I’ll walk you through the 10 mistakes new swimmers make when learning to breathe — and exactly how to fix each one.
I believe in you!
BIG Love,
