Caribe Nation,

Today’s newsletter comes from a question I was asked:
“How do I push off the bottom? When I try, I am not moving forward”

When we push off the bottom, our goal it to create momentum.

Momentum helps us move forward without using energy

And it helps our body float on top of the water.

But pushing off the wrong way can stop our momentum before we even get started.

Here are 3 simple steps to fix the problem:

  1. Push off in a “track start” with you dominant leg forward and non dominant behind it

  2. Have both arms out in front of you [think 10:00 and 2:00 on a clock]

  3. Push off without jumping up - just smoothly on top of the water

Here is an example of me demonstrating and helping a retreat swimmer learn this exact process:

Little details create big results!

See you in the next one!

BIG LOVE,
Coach Jeff Wood

P.S. There are 3 spots left in our March 30th retreat and 2 in our June 1st retreat. If you are interested in attending either, please complete this form: Yes, I want to attend
