Today, my students are sharing the simple 3-step process that helped them go from fearful to a confident front float in less than 3 hours…. literally this morning at the pool in San Juan, PR.

Part 1: Use the Wall

  1. Death-grip wall float

  1. Hands gently resting on the wall

  1. Lift hands above the wall and feel your natural float

Part 2: Move Away from the Wall

Option 1: Push toward the wall

Take a few steps back and float toward it.

Option 2: Drift away from the wall

Start at the wall and let yourself float backward.

Try both. Practice whichever feels easier first.

Part 3: Float Across the Pool

Now remove the wall completely.

Float across the width of the pool. « Or watch as these students did! »

You'll be amazed what happens when you stop trying to float and start allowing the water to support you.

And these 2 were able to accomplish this entire process in under 3 hours… I promise, if they can, SO CAN YOU!
