3 Tips to Stop Water Going In Your Nose
2 Videos From Unlock Your Fearless Swimmer
Sara was doing her best to stay calm while learning to put her face in the water.
But every time she tried, water shot straight up her nose.
Giving her that burning & stinging feeling…
“It happens so fast — I can’t even stop it.”
Sound familiar?
For a lot of new swimmers, this is the moment they back away.
And rightfully so — their body feels under attack.
BUT…
Instead of giving up.
Instead of ‘pushing through’
Check out these 3 simple tips to NEVER invite water in your nose again:
Watch here: 3 Easy Ways to Stop Water From Going Up Your Nose
Tip 1: Take a deeper breath before putting your face in.
Then, inhale just a little more through your nose.
At a certain point, the airflow stops — your body creates a natural seal.
Tip 2: Use a nose plug.
No, you don’t have to wear one forever.
But right now? It removes a huge barrier to learning. This can help you gain necessary confidence with having your face in the water without the worry of having water go up your nose.
Tip 3: Try a snorkel face mask.
It covers the nose, keeps water out, and like tip # 2 helps you gain necessary confidence.
BONUS TIP: Learn with a friend… Like Leon
